A creative & challenging family board game that will leave kids (& even adults) fascinated about the beauty of geometry.

Geometry is not just about remembering shapes & their properties. It’s a way of thinking!

How The Game Works
The game consists of sticks of three different lengths – 3, 4 and 5 units long. Using these to try and create geometric shapes. Based on the size and type of shape, you earn points. Sounds simple? Not quite. Firstly, you don’t get to choose the sticks – it is determined by a randomly chosen card. And secondly, you can use only two sticks per turn! Creating a shape using only two sticks is impossible. Hence you have to use your two sticks along with the ones that the other players may have placed on the board. That is where the game turns highly creative. Which two sticks will you use? Where will you place them? Think creatively to win.

An interesting geometric game that also teaches strategy.
I got this for my 6 yo daughter (math whiz) and we have enjoyed playing it. My adult mind found it very unlikely that a hexagon would be made, but our very first game she noticed that the overall shape on the board was in fact 6 sided. It has been mentioned the rules are tough to understand, but mostly I find them lacking. I have already established “house rules” for adding up points when a single stick makes two separate shapes (we count the common sticks twice.)My biggest complaint is the the sticks come out too easy and the ones that straddle two boards come out even easier. Maybe with use the pins will wear down and fit with less stress, and not want to pop out.

    Exceeded my expectations!
I’ve been eyeing this game for a while and finally bought it. We played it tonight for the first time and loved it. This is one game that really is fun, challenging AND educational. I am impressed with the quality of the pieces, and am especially glad that they made a plastic game board instead of cardboard, which would wear out quickly with the pegs. It is well designed and interesting. I am already looking forward to playing it again. As a homeschooling family, I’m especially glad when I find a game like this that has so many learning opportunities built in the play.

Nice thinking game for geometry (strategy + geometry)
PROS: Made of sturdy, high-quality materials A wide range of ages is able to play Student can get involved in a simple or complex manner Requires thought Organized game piece tray Instructions were very helpful & included many illustrations This game is more than just assimilating geometry…it includes strategy, as well.CONS: Pieces are teeney-tiny The holes to insert the pieces are teeny-tiny-ER! The storage tray is a tight fit (difficult to remove the pieces)OVERALL: Glad we have the game. Took awhile to get started, but now that we have the hang of it…I foresee us playing it more often!

    Great learning game.
Great educational opportunity in the guise of a game. This was purchased for my 8 year old granddaughter. She caught on very quickly and enjoyed the game. Her 5 year old sister liked using the sticks on the board to make her own “pictures.” The sticks didn’t stay in a well as I would have liked, but still works overall. Nice to have plastic board than a cardboard one.

    Kinesthetic Geometry Learning
This game takes a bit of time to learn and the game play is a bit on the slow side. Listed for 8+, it is more likely that this would be a successful tool at the middle-school level or higher. It is an excellent game for understanding the concepts of concave angles, and for teaching how angles and polygons work. This is a great way to make geometry a kinesthetic experience, but unless the person playing is either interested in math or is learning math, they may not find much enjoyment in the game. That said, as one player of our test game remarked, “If my middle school math teacher had used this, I would actually have been excited about geometry.”

Fun math & geometry board game
Three sticks is a super fun math and geometry game. We spent hours trying to get the most points and cleverly outwitting the other to finish of shapes that the other person has started. This game is fun with two people as well as more. The power cards allows to change the balance in the game and its literally a race to the finish.I would happily recommend this to anyone who loves board games (ages 8 and above seems about right to me)

this game became a fast favorite for myself (adult) and two 10 year old boys
Once we understood the rules, this game became a fast favorite for myself (adult) and two 10 year old boys. It keeps us thinking and looking for ways to challenge ourselves to create shapes worth more points. We find it takes about 30 minutes for one round, and at the end of that round we want to play again! Fantastic game!

We had a lot of fun just practicing making shapes and naming them
I bought this game to play with my 5 year old son and teach shapes and geometry. As it’s meant to be played, the game was too complex for him and he had trouble placing the sticks on the board correctly. Ages 8+ as the game states is a fair recommendation. We had a lot of fun just practicing making shapes and naming them. When he gets older, the cards/rules will keep the game interesting enough to challenge him even after knowing the shapes – and it incorporates angles and more advanced concepts as well. The game is well made and should last with time. I will definitely hang on to this one.
